With tequila on tap, tequila flights, and eight different margaritas, Javi’s is tailor made for lovers of liquor distilled from the blue agave plant. Our go-to is the lovely ‘rita made with blood orange—a little softer, a little more rounded than the usual lime version. Following that, we are inevitably in the mood for Tex-Mex. The choices are many but when we are feeling nostalgic, we get the Tex-Mex platter, with its flavorful variety of all our favorites: cheese enchilada, chicken and roasted tomatillo enchilada, crispy taco, tamales, and guacamole tostadas. On our last visit, a friend ordered the carne asada and swore that it was more Mex than Tex—and after one bite of the tender, slightly spicy medium rare steak we knew that we will be ordering it next time around. The covered outside seating is pleasant in nice weather.
